Happy Friday! Another great week and we can't believe it is almost May! Here are a few updates and reminders: - WW 10 Test = Wednesday, May 4th - Science Fair = Please check in with your child about their science fair project. The experiment and data collecting should be completed by Monday, May 16th. - Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) & Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) = All makeups have been completed. If your student did not get the chance to complete a makeup, it is not counted against them. - Quarter 4 = As we begin quarter 4, we are hoping to end the year with the best work completion yet! We will be continuing to have students check Aspen weekly and encouraging them to be turning in missing work sooner than later. - Math Facts = Remember to practice your multiplication facts regularly up to 12! Here are some academic updates from this past week: - ELA (201) = We officially completed our projects and celebrated our work by reading each other's magazines! Everyone did a great job and I am truly impressed by the final product! - ELA (217) = We have been working on filling out our organizers for our five text structures! - SS = We did a great job presenting our final projects for Unit 5! - Math (201) = This week we finished learning about three-dimensional rectangular prisms. The class had a chance to redesign/repurpose a box after finding the volume and surface area of it. Next week, we will begin our decimal operations unit. - Math (217) = This week we started out unit about ratios and proportions. We looked at how data is compared in different comparison statements and were introduced to the strategies of using proportions and rate tables to solve problems. - Science = This week we started our Sexual Health unit. The classes learned about the DECIDE decision-making steps and about changes that will happen during puberty. Science Fair proposal forms have been returned to students and they should be typing their Component 1 information into the Google Classroom assignment. Below is the Science Fair timeline of due dates: We hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend! Mrs. Kovar & Mrs. Parsons
