Mrs. Kovar
Hi! My name is Mrs. Kovar and I will be teaching both literacy and social studies for 201 and 217. I am originally from the suburbs of Chicago and studied Elementary Education at Vanderbilt University (Go Dores!!) in Nashville, Tennessee. There, I also earned an endorsement in English as a Second Language. I then moved to D.C. where I taught fourth grade for five years and also received my Masters of Education in Education Policy, Organization, and Leadership from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My husband and I got married last October and decided to move to Chicago this summer to be closer to family! In my spare time, I love to bake, cook, run, spin, draw, listen to music (mostly Country and Broadway), and spend time with my sisters in my favorite role as proud Auntie. I am SO excited to be working at Coonley and I can't wait to get started! |
Mrs. Parsons
I am very excited to be teaching 5th grade at Coonley again this school year. I have been a Chicago Public Schools teacher for the last sixteen years. I am a Nationally Board Certified Teacher and have specialized in mathematics. I am originally from a small town in Indiana, but have lived in Chicago for the last 18 years. I received my undergraduate degree in Business Information Systems from Indiana University (Go HOOSIERS!!) and then pursued my masters degree in Education from DePaul University. My husband and I live in the Lincoln Square neighborhood with our seven-year old son and five-year old daughter. |
