Happy Friday! We can't believe that there are only six more weeks that we are in school! We have really been so grateful for all the appreciation this week and are so sad thinking about how little time we have left together. Here are a few updates and reminders for next week: - Figurative Language Quiz (201) = Wednesday, May 11th - G&L Unit 10 Test = Friday, May 13th - Science Fair = Please check in with your child about their science fair project. The experiment and data collecting should be completed by Monday, May 16th. - Quarter 4 Covid Attestation Forms = These forms went home with students this week. Please sign them and return them back to us next week! - Quarter 4 Progress Reports = Progress reports will be going home on Friday, May 13th. We are continuing to have students check Aspen weekly and encouraging them to be turning in missing work sooner than later. - Math Facts = Remember to practice your multiplication facts regularly up to 12! Here are some academic updates from this past week: - ELA (201) = We have been learning about different types of figurative language! - ELA (217) = We have finished gathering our research in our organizers and have been working on typing up our articles! - SS = We have started learning about the Constitution! - Math (201) = This week we started our decimal operations unit. We learned the strategies for estimating, rounding, adding and subtracting decimals. Next week we will work on multiplying and dividing decimals. - Math (217) = This week we studied what makes a proportional relationship between two variables. We looked at data tables, graphs and equations to determine the relationship. We also learned that the constant of proportionality is the same thing as a unit rate and a scale factor! - Science = This week we continued our Sexual Health unit. The classes used the DECIDE decision-making steps for different situations and continued to learn about changes that will happen during puberty with their bodies. **All students should be completing their Science Fair experiments at this time. The data from the completed experiment is due Monday, May 16th! Below is the Science Fair timeline of due dates:
We hope that everyone has a fantastic weekend! Mrs. Kovar & Mrs. Parsons
