Happy happy Friday! Another great week in fifth grade and we can't believe that it has already been THREE weeks! Here are a few reminders going into week four!
- Beginning Band Interest Meeting = Monday, September 20th at 4:30pm at this GOOGLE MEET LINK (if you are interested in joining but cannot attend this meeting, email Mr. Wrzesinski) - Student Materials = We have noticed some friends bringing in small totes and binders for transporting their materials. This has seemed to be really successful so far! We encourage you to talk to your child to see if that would be successful for them too as they move from class to class - Lunch in Classrooms = This is continuing until we learn otherwise so PLEASE refrain from sending any peanuts or tree nuts - Touching = Please remind your children that they should only be touching things that belong to them and that they should refrain from touching other children. This is a Covid safety precaution that the entire school is implementing Here are some academic updates from this past week: - ELA = We have been working on our first unit of Greek and Latin Roots for vocabulary work. We also finished up working on creative writing assignments from our first stories! - SS = We are finishing learning about identity and community and creating a poster for our end of unit project! - Math (201) = We have been learning about factors and multiples. We also have been understanding the difference between prime and composite numbers. - Math (217) = We started our Algebra unit and have been identifying variables. We have been using tables and graphs to tell stories of the data. - Science = We have started a unit of the patterns of the Earth and the sky. We are trying to answer the question of "Where are the stars located?". We hope everyone is able to enjoy the nice weather this weekend! Until next week! Thank you, Mrs. Kovar & Mrs. Parsons
