We will be accepting late work that is turned in by Wednesday, January 26th. - Friday, January 28th = No School - School Improvement Day for Staff - Math Facts = Remember to practice your multiplication facts regularly up to 12! Here are some academic updates from this past week: - ELA (201) = We have been learning about the Holocaust and WW2 to build background knowledge before we start our novel next week. - ELA (217) = We have been working on our argumentative essays and have finished our introductions paragraphs while starting our body paragraphs. - SS = We have been learning about what caused the conflict between Native Americans, Great Britain, and France to better understand the French and Indian War. - Math (201) = We will be introducing a new operation with fractions next week...multiplication. Students will practice multiplying fractions with fractions, mixed numbers and whole numbers. After next week, ask your child when they would multiply fractions in real life! - Math (217) = We are continuing our geometry unit and will be exploring the properties of polygons and their angles. We will learn the formula for the angle sum of any polygon by the end of the week. - Science = In our role as food scientists, we have begun looking at the properties of molecules. We will be finishing the first chapter of this unit next week and will be writing scientific explanations on why the dye molecules separated during the chromatography test. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Thank you, Mrs. Kovar & Mrs. Parsons
